Well worth a visit. Loads of information with well constructed exhibits that give a sense of being in historic Grimsby. Consider using the information quiz (adults or children) to make sure you don't miss anything.

A little gem of a museum built in the old police cells under the town hall. Quite a lot of narrow stairs to go up and down. Lovely friendly staff as well. Really interesting use of the space to explain Grimsby history.

A lovely hour spent at the town hall today at the time trap museum. The staff where really lovely and friendly too. Definitely fill in the questionnaire on the way around. Gets you exploring and looking in areas you may otherwise miss for the answers. Was taken upstairs and shown the Chambers and the ballroom aswell before we left. Perfect way to spend an hour and learn about some local history. I remembered visiting on a school trip when I was younger, this is the first visit since then.

We're not from the area but still found the museum engaging. We attended as an educational trip and had a lovely time. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the question sheet we were given was fun.

What a great find. Packed full of artefacts, history and models. Every corner and stair revealed a new surprise. Best attraction in Grimsby. Pity it is only open on weekdays.

I’m a local resident absolutely love this little gem of a museum and bring anyone who visits here to get a good rundown of Grimsby history. It’s a small and honestly quite a cramped space which is hidden underground in the former jail, but very fun and informative. You won’t be in there for more than an hour at most if you stop and read everything, but for £3.50 it’s an absolute bargain for all that you learn. The staff member on the desk was very enthusiastic and lovely and really made the experience.
